Repair a Microsoft Office 2016 Application (Windows 10)

If a Microsoft Office Application is not working correctly (such as Word or Outlook), sometimes repairing the Office suite will fix the issue. You may need to restart your computer after completing the steps below.

Note: Please save and close any work that you have open as this repair will force close any open Office applications.

Step-by-Step

1. Right-click on the Start icon (bottom left corner) and select Apps and Features

2. Scroll down and select Microsoft Office 365 ProPlus and then select Modify

Note: this will repair the entire Office suite even if you are only looking to repair one application. If you have a standalone app installed, you will need to select the individual app.

3. In the How would you like to repair your Office Programs window, select Online Repair radio button, and then Repair

Note: The faster Quick Repair option only detects and replaces corrupted files

4. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the repair process.
