Outlook message font too large/small

Issue

Typing in a new message window in Outlook 2016 for windows displays font larger (or smaller) than chosen font size.

This article applies to Outlook 2016 for Windows

Cause

Zoom is set larger/smaller than 100%

Resolution

Open a new message, then choose Format Text from the ribbon.  Click on the Zoom group and choose zoom.  Change the zoom setting to 100%
