As of February 9, 2026, eduroam Wi-Fi will no longer be available at 46 Centerra (Evergreen).
Dartmouth Faculty, Staff, and Students should connect to the Dartmouth Wi-Fi network instead.
How do I connect to the Dartmouth Wi-Fi?
Visit wifi.dartmouth.edu on each of your devices. Click the "Connect to Wi-Fi" button and follow the instructions. The JoinNow installer has been recently updated to configure devices both for eduroam as well as the “Dartmouth” Wi-Fi network. You must re-enroll your device, even if it has been enrolled for eduroam in the past using the JoinNow installer.
Once your device is reconfigured, it will automatically connect to “Dartmouth” like it does with eduroam. It will also continue to connect to eduroam in locations where that network is available, as usual.
Why is eduroam going away?
Another tenant that is an eduroam provider has recently moved into the building. In order to provide the most reliable connectivity for both their personnel as well as ours, neither their network nor Dartmouth’s can broadcast eduroam service.
How can non-Dartmouth visitors get connected?
The “Dartmouth Public” Wi-Fi network will still be available for visitors to use.
What is different about the Dartmouth and eduroam networks?
Only the name is different; they are otherwise 100% identical. Both the “eduroam” and “Dartmouth” networks offer the exact same speed and security. The name must be different so devices that are configured for eduroam do not automatically, and inadvertently, connect to the equipment from the wrong institution. Doing so would result in very noticeable connectivity issues as your devices’ connections move between roaming and home network status.
