Cellular Phone Support

Dartmouth ITC is not able to support cellular service from public carriers such as AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile.  Cellular service is not provided by Dartmouth ITC, even if your department has purchased and is paying for a cell phone and service plan.  ITC cannot install cellular signal boosters.

ITC offers Wi-Fi in campus buildings.  The Wi-Fi service permits the use of Wi-Fi Calling features that your cellular provider and/or device may support.  Wi-Fi Calling may enhance your ability to place and receive calls using your cell phone number, however only your cellular provider can troubleshoot problems with those features.

ITC offers the ability to use Zoom Phone on mobile devices.  Calls can be placed or received on a mobile device using a Dartmouth phone number and the Zoom mobile app.  Connection to cellular data or Wi-Fi is required in order for Zoom Phone to work on a mobile device.  Dartmouth ITC monitors and supports the Zoom Phone service, however cannot troubleshoot quality or reliability of calls when connected to a cellular network or off-campus Wi-Fi service.  Please see this KB Article for information on using the Zoom mobile app. (https://services.dartmouth.edu/TDClient/1806/Portal/KB/ArticleDet?ID=153153)

ITC additionally offers Passpoint Wi-Fi service in many campus locations.  This enables visitors to campus to automatically connect to secure Wi-Fi, provided that their cellular provider and device support the Passpoint service.  Passpoint is not intended for use by Dartmouth-affiliated individuals or as a replacement for eduroam.  Use of Passpoint also permits use of Wi-Fi Calling features.  Please see this KB Article for more information on Passpoint.
