About Canvas

Canvas is a web-based tool for teaching, learning, and collaboration. All Dartmouth classes have a Canvas site available for use.

How to Access Canvas

  • You can access Canvas at https://canvas.dartmouth.edu or by clicking the Canvas button at the top right of your DartHub account.
  • Log in with your Dartmouth NetID and password
  • When Canvas opens, it's specific to you and your current academic term. You will see a dashboard that includes courses in which you are currently enrolled.
  • Courses in Canvas may include - depending on the course and the professor - the course syllabus, reading materials, assignments, discussions, etc.
  • It is important to check Canvas often for updates.
  • If you drop or add a course, it may take a few hours for it to show in Canvas.
  • Canvas supports the current and first previous major releases of the following browsers:
    • Chrome
    • Firefox
  • Mobile/Tablet apps are available for Android and iOS.

Canvas Help
