GlobalProtect by Palo Alto Networks is Dartmouth's newly supported VPN client. This tool is available across different devices and operating systems.
Important: If your computer is in Dartmouth's Device Assurance Program (DAP), the GlobalProtect client is already installed and configured on your computer. Please see the Run GlobalProtect VPN article. If your computer is not in DAP, follow the steps below. Before setting up or running the new GlobalProtect VPN, please make sure your Big-IP Edge client is disconnected.

Step-by-Step
1. Open a web browser and navigate to https://vpn.dartmouth.edu
2. Login with your Dartmouth NetID and Password
3. Authenticate using DUO
4. Click either the 32 bit or 64 bit download link.
Note: If you are not sure if your machine is a 32-bit or 64-bit computer, you can check by hitting the Windows Key on your keyboard, type System Information, and hit Enter
5. Once the download completes, open the downloaded file and click Next through the defaults.
Note: You may need administrator privileges to install.
6. Once the installation completes, you will see a GlobalProtect pop up on the bottom right side of your screen. Please enter vpn.dartmouth.edu as the portal address and click Connect. You will be prompted to Login using your Dartmouth NetID and Password, then authenticate using DUO 2-factor authentication.
Note: If you are a DHMC user, please use vpn-split.dartmouth.edu as the portal address.
7. Once connected you will see the following window.
You can also check your connection status by opening the System Tray on the right side of your Taskbar as shown below
