Faculty Emeritus

Emeritus Status may be granted to Faculty who meet requirements outlined in the Handbook of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences.

Faculty Emeritus status entitles an individual to the following technology-related services:

  • Your name listed in the College directories
  • Retain your Dartmouth email address and mailbox
  • Dartmouth Library System(s) access and borrowing privileges
  • Dartmouth OPO and DOC cabin reservations, under the same policies as employees
  • The ability to purchase computer equipment through The Computer Store
  • Access to Office 365 online applications

IT Support Services provided to emeritus faculty

  • Account Support - Call Center
    • Reset password
    • Unlock account
    • Setup and manage Duo multi-factor authentication
  • Computer and Device Support
    • Fee-based support is available for computers and devices at the Dartmouth Computer Store subject to technician availability.
    • Emeritus faculty actively performing work with and for Dartmouth should receive appropriate equipment and related IT support services. See “Faculty Emeritus Performing Work for Dartmouth College” below.
  • Software and Solution Support
    • Access Email through outlook web access
    • Additional limited fee-based support is available at the Dartmouth Computer Store subject to technician availability.

Faculty Emeritus Performing Work for Dartmouth College

  • Emeritus faculty who are actively performing work with and for the college should work with their department to request an appointment through the Dean of Faculty office for the duration of their work.
  • Departments are responsible for providing current and supported Dartmouth equipment to appointed emeritus faculty performing work for the department if needed.
  • Standard IT support services will be provided.

Please note - As part of the transition to Emerit status, as they leave "Active” employee status in HRMS, those faculty will receive an Account Change Notification email 30 days before their account transitions to E-FAC status.
