PBS: troubleshoot network printing issues in Moore

User has been able to print previously. Use checklist to troubleshoot network printer connections.

Step-by-Step

  • Send print job to network printer from another computer. If not successful, check status of printer (power, paper jams, toner, maintenance kit (HP printers). If print job from another computer is successful,  check the following settings on customer's computer.
  1. What network is computer connected to - Eduroam, Dartmouth Public, or ethernet. Computers can't print to network printer using Dartmouth Public wi-fi, or from desktop computer on ethernet wired network with an unregistered MAC address.
  2. If computer is using wi-fi, connect to Eduroam.
  3. If desktop computer is using wi-fi, connect to Eduroam.
  4. If desktop computer is using ethernet, check that computer has internet connectivity.
  5. If desktop computer is using ethernet, check that ethernet cable is plugged into correct ports on computer, desktop phone and wall.
  6. If desktop computer's MAC is registered on network.
