Internet Explorer 11 - removing saved passwords and credentials

You open a website and are logged in without a prompt to enter credentials. Passwords are saved from previous session. First check that you do not have a browser window open logged into another site with your credentials (e.g. BWA/Office365). Log out, close browser window, restart browser. Log into first site, if you are still not prompted for credentials, password may be saved.

When you enter a username and password for Internet Explorer that it has not already stored for a website, it will ask if you want Internet Explorer to remember the password.

  • Click Not for this site on the pop-up menu.
  • This will set Internet Explorer not to prompt you to save this password for this site.

Internet Explorer 11 has a Manage Password or Web Credentials Manager. Follow directions to delete saved password.

Step-by-Step

  1. Open the Tools menu. (if Tools menu is not visible in Internet Explorer menu bar, right click on the menu bar and check "Menu Bar.")
