CyberArk - Access from OS X without a VM

Tags PSM cyberark

Step-by-Step

To access the CyberArk Privileged Session Manager (PSM) from OS X without using a Virtual Machine with Windows, you will need Microsoft’s Remote Desktop, version 10, which requires OS X 10.11.6 or later. You can download it from Apple's App Store.

To connect:

  1. We recommend using Chrome for access.
  2. Launch Chrome and go to CyberArk's Privileged Account Security and log in with Duo.
  3. When you select to connect to AD, OIM, or OAAM, you will be prompted for a .rdp download file, open the file using Microsoft Remote Desktop.
    • You may be prompted to accept a certificate for connection to the server. Click Continue to do this.
  4. Wait a few moments while the Remote Desktop window opens, and then another window will open and log you in to the connection you have selected.

Trouble connecting to CyberArk:

If you have an issue connecting, where the .rdp file launch is requesting a password, you will need to clear the RDP setting file.

  • Quit the Microsoft Remote Desktop application.
  • From the Go menu, select Utilities, and open the Terminal program.
  • Enter the following command line, then press Enter.

defaults write com.microsoft.rdc.macos ClientSettings.EnforceCredSSPSupport 0

NOTE: If you are off-campus, you will need to start a VPN session prior to launching a browser to go to CyberArk's Privileged Account Security site.
