Reset DNS on Windows

Step-by-Step

Windows 10

  1. Click Start
  2. Choose Settings (Gear Icon)
  3. Choose Network & Internet
  4. Choose Change Adapter Options
  5. Right click the adapter you are using and need to change then click Properties from the menu that appears.
  6. Scroll down to the Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPV4) adapter and click Properties.
  7. Click Obtain DNS server address automatically then OK.

Windows 7

  1. Click Start then Control Panel.
  2. Click Network and Internet then Network Connections.
  3. Right click the adapter you are using and need to change then click Properties from the menu that appears.
  4. Scroll down to the Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPV4) adapter and click Properties.
  5. Click Obtain DNS server address automatically then OK.
