System Overview

Geisel's digital signage runs on the OptiSigns platform, administered by the Communications Office. Signage is organized into two lanes based on who manages the screen.

System Features & Usage

Lane 1: Central / Dean's Office Screens

  • These screens are centrally managed by the Communications Office.
  • All content requires Communications Office approval before publishing.
  • Submit content requests to the Communications Office with the following details:
    • Content description and messaging
    • Target audience and preferred screen locations
    • Requested display dates and duration
    • Any relevant images, logos, or assets

Lane 2: Department-Managed Screens

  • These screens are managed at the departmental level by a designated Content Approver.
  • Departments may publish approved content directly to their screens without Communications Office pre-approval.
  • Please note that approximately 20% of screen time is reserved for institutional messaging from the Communications Office and should not be removed.
  • Submit a Service Request to learn more

For Non-OptiSigns Users

Don't have OptiSigns access? Submit a Service Request to the Communications Office and include:

  • Content description and messaging
  • Target audience and preferred screen locations
  • Requested display dates and duration
  • Any relevant images, logos, or assets
  • Contact information for follow-up
  • Please use these templates as needed

The Communications Office will create and route your content through the appropriate approval process. Be sure to allow sufficient lead time for review, creation, and approval

For Student Groups

Student groups should submit signage requests through the Office of Student Life. Be sure to:

  • Provide all relevant event or messaging details
  • Allow sufficient lead time for review and approval

Content Guidelines

✅ Authorized Content includes:

  • Event announcements, departmental updates, educational messaging, recognition, wayfinding, health & wellness, and safety information

🚫 Prohibited Content includes:

  • Political messaging, commercial advertising, personal announcements, unapproved third-party branding, and content that does not align with Geisel's mission and values

All content must use Geisel-branded templates and follow Geisel brand guidelines. Departments with affiliated groups are permitted to use third party logos and style guides as deemed appropriate by the Communications Office. The Communications Office reserves the right to remove non-compliant content. Within each Department, there will be a singular person responsible for approving their Department’s content.
