Overview

This guide explains how to remotely transfer files from your local computer to installed computers using the Splashtop Business application. This method allows you to silently transfer files without remoting into the computer, viewing the desktop, or taking control of the mouse and keyboard. This means you can transfer files at any timeeven during classes or presentations without disrupting what's happening on screen.

Prerequisites

  • Splashtop Business app installed on your computer
  • Access permissions to the Geisel AV account and associated computers

Steps to Transfer Files

1. Connect to the Remote Computer

Open the Splashtop Business app and select the installed computer you want to transfer files to.

 

2. Open File Transfer

Click the File Transfer button in the toolbar.

3. Transfer Your Files

The File Transfer window will open with two sides:

  • Left side: Your local computer
  • Right side: The remote/installed computer

To transfer a file:

  1. Navigate to your desired file using the drop-down menu on the left panel
  2. Select the file(s) you want to transfer
  3. Click the transfer button (arrow pointing right) to move the file to the remote computer

Best Practice: In most cases, files should be transferred to the Desktop of the remote computer.

 

You can:

  • Create a new folder on the desktop
  • Place files in an existing folder
  • Drop files directly on the desktop

 

Locating the Desktop Folder

The desktop location path is: /Users/classroom_user/Desktop

To navigate to the desktop, use the drop-down menu and navigate to:

  1. Macintosh HD
  2. Users
  3. classroom_user
  4. Desktop
