How do I set default applications in Windows 10?

Click the start menu in Windows 10, click the Settings icon (the icon looks like a gear).

In the search box, type Default App Settings then click Default App Settings from the search results.

On the left, click Default apps.

You can choose the default application for several types of applications - i.e. Email, your web browser, etc. Click the current default application under 

Click the app you wish to change. You will be prompted to choose an app from a list of applications currently installed on your computer. You also have the option of choosing an application from the Microsoft App Store.

 

Note: from the Default Apps panel, there are links to choose default apps by file type and protocol.
