My folders in Outlook are out of order

Body

Issue

User created folders in Outlook for windows are not in alphabetical order

Environment

Outlook 2016 for Windows

Cause

Unknown cause for folder reorder

Resolution

In the account you wish to reorder folders, Go to the Folder tab in the ribbon of Outlook and choose Show all folders A to Z.

This will reorder all the user created folders under the chosen account alphabetically.  Outlook will always put system folders at the top of the list before the user created folders, such as Inbox, Drafts, Sent Items, Deleted Items.

The reorder will also prioritize symbols and numbers if they are the first character in the folder name.  Example "1Foldername" or "*Foldername" will be sorted higher than "Foldername".
