Step-by-Step
- Right-click any blank place on the Windows 10 Desktop.
- Choose New > Shortcut.
- Type in the path to the server you would like to connect to, eg \\OF_Provost\(name of share)
- Click Next, give the shortcut a name, and click Finish.
- Right Click the shortcut and choose "Pin To Start" if you would like to put it in your start menu
- Right Click and choose "Pin to Quick Access" if you would like to connect using File Explorer
You can also create a shortcut in your search bar.
- In your search bar, type in the path to the server you would like to connect to, eg \\OF_Provost\(name of share)
- Click on the share you would like.
- Right click and pin to start or quick access. (This will give you a shortcut to the top share.)
- Click the share and any folder you would like to create a shortcut to then right click and pin to start or quick access.
To create a shortcut to an application in your applications list for all users:
- Go to c:\program data\microsoft\windows\start menu.
- Copy the application icon in that folder.
