- MacOS Firefox upgrade options can be set by customers.
- Open Firefox > Preferences > General tab.
- Scroll to section titled "Firefox Updates," Select one of three options.
- Automatically install updates (recommended)
- Check for updates but let you chose to install them
- Never check for updates (Not recommended)
- Troubleshooting Firefox upgrade issues and pop-up alerts - "Unable to update..."
- Quit Firefox.
- Open Safari and visit the Firefox download page and click Download.
- Once the download has completed, the file (Firefox.dmg) should open by itself and pop open a Finder window containing the Firefox application. Drag the Firefox Icon on top of the Applications folder in order to copy it there.
- If an older version of Firefox exists, a MacOS security pop-up will open.
- Put in your MacOS account password (requires administrator privileges), select Replace.
- After dragging Firefox to the Applications folder, hold down the control key while clicking in the window and select Eject "Firefox" from the menu.
- You can add Firefox to your dock for easy access. Just open your Applications folder and drag Firefox to the dock.
