Step-by-Step
This application uses a network license manager and requires a connection to the Dartmouth network each time you run IDL. The license file will direct the application to exelislicense.dartmouth.edu to obtain a license.
Older versions are available at our local download site. We are not licensed for the latest version available from NV5 Geospatial Software
- Download IDL 8.5 for Windows 64-bit. (Authenticated access - you may be prompted for your NetID)
- Download the license file and save it (right click and "save as"). Beware that some browsers may append ".txt" to the file name. If so, it is easiest if you rename the file and remove the .txt
- Click the IDL_ENVI53SP1win64.exe file to start the installer.
- After installing the product, you will be offered the License Wizard to configure a license. Choose ‘Install a license you have received’, then navigate to the file you just downloaded. The file browser will show only files matching *.dat, *.lic which is why we removed any ".txt"
