As of January 2026, ITC will be assigning Static IP Addresses for printers with the related DNS hostname in the printer.dartmouth.edu namespace.
This is to avoid conflicts between desired printer hostnames and other systems/services/websites that require the same or similar name in the root dartmouth.edu namespace.
Please keep this in mind as you make requests for IP Addresses for printers and configure endpoints to connect to them.
Existing names and address allocations will not be affected.
For example, if you request a Static IP Address for a printer named 4currier1stfloor.dartmouth.edu, we will assign the name 4currier1stfloor.printer.dartmouth.edu instead
