Phishing Method
- Social engineering email sent to Dartmouth alumni, claiming to be from senior leadership.
- The email asks alumni to confirm cell phone number urgently.
- The sender's name showed up with the actual name of someone from senior leadership but with the email address ktt189265@gmail.com
User Response
- Mark the message as spam (which reports the spam/scam to Gmail),
- Block the sender (so you don’t get another message like this)
- Do not reply to the message
- Forward the message to phishing@dartmouth.edu, and
- Share what happened with officers/classmates so they know how easy it is to be scammed if you’re not paying attention.
