Collecting GlobalProtect VPN Client Logs

macOS

  1. Click on the GlobalProtect client icon on the top of the home screen and click on the gear and select Settings.

     
  2. In the window that opens, select the Troubleshooting tab. Click the Collect Logs button.

     
  3. This will bring up the Collect Logs window. When complete, click the Open Folder button.

     
  4. This will open a Finder window. Look for the GlobalProtectlogs.tgz file. Upload this file to your ITC Support ticket.
     

Windows

  1. Right-Click the GlobalProtect icon on the taskbar.

     
  2. Click Settings

     
  3. Click the sprocket icon in the upper right.

     
  4. In the window that opens, select the Troubleshooting tab. Click the Collect Logs button.

     
  5. This will bring up the Save Logs window. When complete, click the Open Folder button.

     
  6. This will open a Windows Explorer window. Look for the GlobalProtectlogs.zipfile. Upload this file to your ITC Support ticket.

     

Linux

  1. Open the GlobalProtect application. Click the hamburger menu and click Settings.

     
  2. In the window that opens, select the Troubleshooting tab. Click the Collect Logs button.

     
  3. This will bring up the Save Logs window. When complete, click the Open Folder button.

     
  4. This will open a Files window. Look for the GlobalProtectlogs.tgz file. Upload this file to your ITC Support ticket.
     

Linux CLI

  1. To collect the GlobalProtect Client logs use the below commands on the terminal.
    user@host:~$ globalprotect
    >> collect-log
    Start collecting...
    Collecting network info...
    Collecting machine info...
    Copying files...
    Generating final result file...
    The support file is saved to ~/.GlobalProtect/GlobalProtectLogs.tgz
    Collection Complete
    >> quit
    user@host:~$
    	
  2. Upload the ~/.GlobalProtect/Collect.tgz file to your ITC Support ticket.

Mobile

  1. From within the GlobalProtect app for mobile devices, you can select Help > Troubleshoot and then choose to email the log files as an attachment.
