Dartmouth Managed Software Center


Information regarding installation and use of the Dartmouth managed Software Center.


The Dartmouth Managed Software Center (MSC) is an application that contains the necessary applications needed for students to succeed at Dartmouth. The MSC contains applications including:

  • Microsoft Office package for Mac
  • DartAlert (Alertus)
  • GreenPrint Installer
  • Etc.

To download the Managed Software Center, students can save the dartapp.pkg file to their computer.

  • When prompted, enter the password for your computer, then click Install Software. Follow the prompts for the installation.
  • When the installation is complete, click Close. You will need to restart your computer to complete the installation.

Students who have installed the MSC will see this screen:

This screen shows both the recommended and optional software available for download or updates. If students want to separate optional software from the recommended software, simply choosing the Categories on the left-hand side of the screen will give options for recommended or optional software.

Categories List

From here, installing or updating any common Dartmouth software is simple - find the app within the MSC and choose Update or Install.

Quick Links in the top bar provide shortcuts to the Dartmouth Homepage, the Dartmouth Computer Store page, and ITC Service Portal.
