Clear Cache and Cookies in Firefox

Tags Oak

Firefox saves information including pages you've visited (cache) and cookies, which are small files that are stored in your browser but sent from websites you've visited. Over time, this can cause problems with logging into websites or even opening a webpage. It's a good idea to clear the cache or browser history and also to clear cookies on a regular basis.

Be aware that clearing your browser's cache and cookies may remove data such as saved passwords so be sure you have that information available.

To clear cache and cookies in Firefox:

  1. From the History menu, choose Clear Recent History. If the menu bar is hidden, press the Alt key on your keyboard to make it visible.

  1. From the "Time Range to Clear" drop-down menu, select the desired range. Choose everything to clear all cookies and your entire cache.
  2. Choose what you would like to clear under the History and Data headings. To clear your entire cache, select all items.

  1. Click Clear Now.
  2. Exit/quit Firefox and then re-open your browser
