iPad unable to authenticate to App Store or Websites


iPad is unable to access App Store or iTunes apps and receives trust error message when navigating the web in Safari.


This article applies to iOS.


This can occur when the time of the device does not match the region and time zone the the OS is set to. In this case the device was set to Eastern Standard Time but the device was not auto syncing the time and was off by 4 hours.


  1. Go to Settings > General > Date & Time.
  2. Ensure the time zone is set correctly.
  3. Turn on Set Automatically.
  4. Allow sync to occur.

This should resolve the network issues that were preventing the user from accessing the built in apps and websites they were nagivating.
