Reset Web Browsers


Resetting your browser settings will impact browsers as follows:

  • Default search engine and saved search engines will be reset to their original defaults.
  • Homepage button will be hidden and the URL that was previously set will be removed.
  • Default startup tabs will be cleared. The browser will show a new tab when you startup.
  • New Tab page may be blank.
  • Content settings will be cleared and reset to their installation defaults.
  • Cookies and site data will be cleared.


  1. In the upper-right corner of FireFox, click Menu (3 horizontal lines) and then click the "Help" option at the bottom right.
  2. Click More Troubleshooting Information.
  3. In the upper-right corner, under "Give Firefox a tune up," click Refresh Firefox.
  4. To continue, click Refresh Firefox in the confirmation window that opens.
  5. Click Finish.


  1. In the upper-right corner of Chrome, click Menu (3 vertical dots) and then click Settings.
  2. Scroll down and click Advanced
  3. Scroll down to the Reset section, click Reset
  4. At the confirmation dialog, click Reset.

Internet Explorer (IE)

  1. In the upper-right corner of IE, click the "gear icon" and then Internet options.
  2. Click the Advanced tab and then Reset...
  3. Select Delete personal settings and then click Reset.
  4. Click close, and then close.

Microsoft Edge

  1. In the upper-right corner of Microsoft Edge, click the 3 horizontal dots, then Settings.
  2. Under the Clear browsing data section, click Choose what to clear.
  3. Select all options, then click Clear
  4. Restart your computer.


  1. Click the Safari menu.
  2. Click Preferences
  3. Click on the Privacy tab
  4. Click Remove All Website Data
  5. Click Remove Now
