Bitwarden is an approved password management solution for passwords at Dartmouth. This tool will keep critical account passwords secure and encrypted in accordance with Dartmouth's DISC level 3 security standards. Bitwarden Password Manager is reserved for Dartmouth passwords only and should not be used for the storing of personal passwords.
There are two primary options: "My Vault" and "Collections".
"My vault" is for passwords you are not sharing.

No, data cannot be exported out of Bitwarden. You are unable to copy data or download data out of the solution. If there is a business use case for exporting data then please submit a ticket to your IT consulting team at services.dartmouth.edu. Sharing passwords from Bitwarden outside of Dartmouth is logged and audited.
Data are only stored in the Bitwarden solution. Dartmouth does not maintain external copies of these data. Bitwarden will give you several notices before a password is deleted. If a password is accidentally deleted, then you will need to reset it for that service.
All Bitwarden apps are supported by Dartmouth. These include desktop, mobile, and browser extension. Current app versions can be downloaded at Bitwarden.
Passwords can be viewed for 15 minutes before timing out.
Passwords must be a minimum of 12 characters.
